Families of four often don't fit a standard room. I check the room actually sleeps everyone before you book.

Half board, full board or all inclusive. With kids or big appetites, the upgrade can work out cheaper than paying as you go.

Transfer times on arrival
Some resorts are over an hour from the airport, and in the Maldives a seaplane can add real cost. You'll know before you choose.
